About

I am a new medical student who will be attending the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara during the Spring 2012 semester.  For now I am choosing to keep my identity private, let’s see how long that will last.  My goal is chronicle my experiences up to my clinical year.  I hope to debunk some of the myths and rumors, and give insight to those that may be true.

I’ve never been one to keep a journal because I was paranoid what I wrote would be discovered.  Funny, my first journal is online for the world to see.  Let’s see how this turns out.  If no one ever reads this, at least I’ll have a cool memorial of my experiences.

I greatly appreciate your feedback and commentary on this blog. It is especially helpful for students, such as myself, who are of African descent and are considering attending UAG. I am planning to begin in the Spring 2014 semester, and I would like to know if you could provide me withe the list of professors you took class with, reading lists for each class, as well as the respective books that you used. Otherwise, if you could e-mail me your syllabi for the first two semesters, as well as commentary on which professors you suggest taking classes with, I would be tremendously grateful. Thanks again for your help. Look forward to your e-mail.

Did you do your interview in San Antonio or the main campus in Guadalajara? What is your opinion on either or?

    • I interviewed in San Antonio and liked it because of the convenience. If you want to see the facilities before attending you should probably interview in Guad.

  4. Hey Guadhelp!

Thank you for this blog and I certainly hope you can continue it… I’m excited to know the rest of your story 😀
I interviewed in San Antonio and hopefully will be getting my acceptance soon.

You inspired me to also document my time abroad, even if its a couple of entries here and there.
    Beautiful writing skills!
    Much love
    Laura
